About Bente Marschall

Bente Marschall (°1997) obtained her MA in History from the University of Amsterdam. Since December 2020, she is a PhD Candidate at the Centre for Urban History (CSG) of the University of Antwerp. Her project: ‘Extra-territoriality in the late medieval city. Urban agency and the meaning of enclaves and liberties in the urban social and economic fabric (14th-16th centuries)’, supervised by Peter Stabel and Greet De Block, will uncover the consequences of a (juridically) divided urban space for day-to-day business and urban society as a whole.
