Liesje Baltussen holds an MA-degree in Theatre and Film Studies from the University of Antwerp, where she graduated in 2019 with a dissertation on the work of experimental filmmaker Ben Rivers. She continued studying film at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Ghent) and, in 2022, joined Research Centre for Visual Poetics. Here, she works on a BOF project studying the activities of Fugitive Cinema, an Antwerp-based film collective most active during the sixties and seventies, and its influence on the Belgian cinematic landscape. Liesje has previously published articles in Forum+ and Filmmagie.
