In 2007 Vincent Cattersel earned a Master degree in object conservation and wood conservation. During the period 2008-2014 he worked as an wood and object conservator and research assistant at the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage in Brussels and as a visiting lecturer and researcher at the department Conservation Studies, University of Antwerp, Belgium. In 2014 he started a doctoral study as part of the ‘European Lacquer in Context’ project. This PhD-research project is devoted towards the art technical aspects of European lacquering from the 17th to the 19th century in North West Europe.
