Bert Belmans is a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer at the faculties of Applied Engineering and Design Sciences of University of Antwerp. He is a qualified architectural engineer with a PhD in building physics. Bert can build on both practical experience as an architect and research experience in the field of building physics and HVAC control. He’s passionate about sustainable building.
Bert advocates a climate-responsive architecture that respects material flows and energy flows and makes optimal use of materials and passive design measures. His current research focuses on circular building design, people-centric ventilation and green facades.
