Incoming exchange students
Interested in studying at the Faculty of Design Sciences for 1 semester or a full year? Welcome!
Each year we welcome around 50 international students in the different programmes of our faculty. Being a faculty of Design Sciences, we can offer a mix of courses in this field.
Please check the different study programmes below for more information on the exchange possibilities and course catalogues.

Architecture
Incoming exchange students are welcome in:
- 2nd cycle: 1st year Master (4th year of study)
- Autumn/Winter semester or full year (exchange for only the Spring semester is not possible!)
Portfolio
In your application, please provide a portfolio with your best work and a short CV (max. 30 pages).
Course catalogue
Incoming exchange students can choose courses from the 'Course Catalogue for Architecture Exchange Students'.
Some courses are offered in English (indicated with ‘Language of instruction = English’), other courses are in Dutch, but with English facilities for exchange students.
Please note that the list of courses might change slightly due to re-arrangements in the schedule. Upon arrival the academic coordinator will check the chosen courses with each student individually.
Conservation-Restoration
Incoming exchange students are welcome in:
- 2nd cycle: 1st year Master (4th year of study)
- Autumn/Winter semester

Heritage Studies
Incoming exchange students are welcome in:
- 2nd cycle: 1st year Master (4th year of study)

Interior Architecture

Incoming exchange students are welcome in:
- 1st cycle: 3rd year Bachelor (3rd year of study) - only in Dutch!
- 2nd cycle: 1st year Master (4th year of study) - English
- Autumn/Winter semester

Course catalogue
Product Development offers a full semester (30 ECTS) of courses in English. Incoming exchange students follow the courses of the Autumn/Winter semester of the 1st master year (courses in English).
Dutch-speaking incoming exchange students follow the courses of the Autumn/Winter semester of the 3rd bachelor year (courses in Dutch).
Please note that the list of courses might change slightly due to re-arrangements in the schedule. Upon arrival the academic coordinator will check the chosen courses with each student individually.
Urbanism and Spatial Planning
Incoming exchange students are welcome in:
- 2nd cycle (Master)
- New from 24-25! - Spring/Summer semester = master thesis semester
Course catalogue
Incoming exchange students enrol in the master thesis course of Urban Planning (21 ECTS), combined with other courses from the 'Course Catalogue for Urbanism and Spatial Planning Exchange Students'.
Some courses are offered in English (indicated with ‘Language of instruction = English’), other courses are in Dutch, but with English facilities for exchange students.
