Medicine and Health Sciences

International summer schools, short courses and projects

Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences

Every year the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences organises short courses and summer schools on global health issues. Experts from all over the world are invited to give lectures and hands-on workshops to a heterogenous group of students, researchers and/or working professionals. The Faculty also participates (and has participated) in many international medical education projects. These activities underline the international dimension of our Faculty.

Summer schools and short courses

One week course for (under)graduate students on the broad field of vaccinology.

This is a hands-on course on epidemiological modelling for close-contact diseases and health economic evaluations for vaccines.

Boost your knowledge and equip yourself with latest insights and skills to navigate the complexities of pandemics

This course is organised by the Global Health Institute of the UAntwerp. It offers a profound training of six weeks on the basic principles and methods of epidemiology. Full scholarships are available.

I³DC is a complete course on infectious diseases and is organised in the framework of IDEAL (Infectious Diseases European/African Learning), an international Erasmus-funded teaching program. I³DC is the result of a collaboration between different European universities (Paris-Descartes, Roma, Antwerp and Edinburgh).

    International education projects

Another important element of the Faculty’s international activities is the promotion and strengthening of scientific collaboration through joint research projects. Ongoing international research projects are listed on the websites of our research units/centres
