The Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) in Antwerp is an internationally renowned institute providing education, research and services in tropical medicine and health care in developing countries.

The University of Antwerp maintains structured cooperation with the ITM for both education and research.
 
The ITM's hospitalisation department has been incorporated in Antwerp University Hospital. As a result, ITM staff can call on the expertise of other departments whenever necessary and in return, the university doctors have easy access to the ITM's specialist 'tropical' knowledge.
