Informational Citizenship (InfoCitizen)
Toward a global ethnography of practices and infrastructures of datafication in the Global South
We combine ethnography, history, and digital humanities to explore how grassroots organizations engage with data to negotiate their sociocultural and political-economic citizenship from the margins.
We connect top-down and bottom-up practitioners, stakeholders, experts, and citizens across data ecosystems in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo), Portugal, Germany, Kenya and Tanzania to reimagine subjectivity, community, law- and policy-making in the era of digital development.
