Summer school | Finance4Development

23-27 June 2025

We’re excited to announce the upcoming Finance 4 Development Summer School, a one-week intensive programme designed for professionals in development cooperation and advanced Master’s or PhD students in economics, political science, development studies, or sociology.

Participants will explore how financial mechanisms support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), addressing both strengths and shortcomings in current structures. The course combines macro-economic and political economy perspectives to provide a holistic understanding of development finance in real-world contexts.

Key highlights:

  • Examine the gaps and challenges in funding sustainable development
  • Analyze real-world case studies and the latest trends in development finance
  • Align your learning with the upcoming 4th UN Finance for Development Conference (July 1-3, 2025)

Beyond the classroom, participants can engage in a variety of networking activities, from city tours and football games to day trips to Bruges or Brussels.

Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of the development cooperation landscape and the SDGs. No finance background is required, as the course takes a policy-focused, accessible approach.
