Below is a brief summary of what will be covered within this theme and an overview of all important dates.
Every assistant gives feedback in his or her teaching career. It is one of the basic tasks of a teaching assistant. Consequently, students are confronted with feedback on a regular basis. As a result, feedback has a strong influence on learning. The impact and usefulness of feedback cannot be underestimated. However, not all feedback is effective feedback. The effectiveness of feedback is strongly influenced by the way it is given. In this theme we reflect on the characteristics of good feedback and look at practical tips on how to work with effective feedback in your teaching practice.
On completion of this theme you will be able to
- describe general feedback principles that lead to quality feedback;
- set up criteria as guidelines for giving feedback;
- implement effective feedback in your teaching practice.
