Centre Pieter Gillis organizes activities focusing on religious diversity and related themes, wherein reflection and exchange of ideas are encouraged. These activities are directed to academic staff, university (college) students, and the broader audience.

Scholars from different academic backgrounds and from different European contexts analyse the way education of Islam is organized in Europe, with particular focus on normative and pedagogical aspects and European guidelines concerning religious and citizenship education. UCSIA organizes this conference together with the Centre Pieter Gillis of the University of Antwerp and the Interuniversity Centre for Education Law.
