Explaining your research in a clear and concise way is not easy. PRESS > SPEAK gives young researchers the chance to take their first steps in science communication.
Every year, the UAntwerp Science Communication team organises an English edition of the PRESS > SPEAK writing competition. First, the young international researchers take part in the Linguapolis workshop 'Science Communication' on how to write a readable English text that is intelligible to the wider public. In addition, participants also receive individual feedback on their texts.
From the texts submitted for the 2024 PRESS > SPEAK competition, Maja Mielke emerged as the winner with the text 'Canaries: the cheetahs among seed eaters'. It will be published in UAntwerp's online magazine, Stroom.
