Monitoraat op maat - Academic Dutch Language Support
Since 1 September 2006 Linguapolis’ ‘Monitoraat op maat’ has offered free Academic Dutch language support to students of the University of Antwerp who have problems with academic Dutch. With this initiative Linguapolis wants to contribute to creating a favourable study environment and increasing the intake and pass rate of higher education students.
All students who make use of ‘Monitoraat op maat’ language support receive a personalised language programme on the basis of an entrance test. This can include individual demand-driven coaching, language support in small groups and/or guided self study. This programme is tailor-made to the students’ needs and study requirements. Students work together with a language coach using their own study materials in order to develop insight and skill in academic Dutch. Coaching starts either on the students’ own initiative or on referral by a lecturer.
‘Monitoraat op maat’ does not only offer tailor-made programmes for students who apply directly for language support, but academic Dutch support is also embedded within some degree programmes. ‘Monitoraat op maat’ offers academic Dutch introductory sessions and/or entrance tests to future students in the context of various degree programmes.
Please see the Monitoraat op maat web pages for further details.
