The HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) is the official test of Standard Chinese language proficiency. The test is organised by Hanban, a Chinese institution which provides resources for learning Chinese as a foreign language. The HSK can be taken at 6 different levels, from 1 (elementary knowledge, equivalent to A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages - CEFR) to 6 (advanced proficiency).
