This series was offered as an elective to all third bachelor's degree programmes at the University of Antwerp. Students participating in the course worked out their vision for a re-imagined university based on the various panel discussions and on their own lived experiences. In addition to a written group paper, they also worked on a creative representation (a video, a podcast or a vision board).
The organisers of Debating Development selected six works that provide inspiration for re-imagining "the university". The students gave their consent to make their written work public.
- The university creates more divides than society perceives. (See the vision board | Watch the video)
- Addressing academic ties to Fossil Fuel Industry: moving forward.
- Taking a step towards a social and collaborative university.
- How can we revise the teaching curriculum of higher education to gain decolonized knowledge? (Listen to the podcast)
- The University of Tomorrow: Challenging the Status Quo! (See the vision board | Watch the video)
- Three pillars that influence the university and how they can be used as change drivers in a future scenario.
