This lecture focuses on the role of the International Criminal Court in The Hague in contemporary conflicts. Chris(tine) Van den Wyngaert, a former judge at the International Criminal Court, will explain how the Court works and provide further interpretation on a number of contemporary conflicts. For example, she will explain South Africa's case against Israel and the arrest warrants issued against several world leaders and suspects.

Chris(tine) Van den Wyngaert

She is a Belgian lawyer, professor of international criminal law at the University of Antwerp, and a former judge at the International Criminal Court.

This lecture will be held in English and is organised by ELSA Antwerpen.

Everybody is welcome! Tickets for the lectures cost EUR 2. With deduction of the service fee for the ticket website, the full amount will be forwarded to a charity that assists victims in war zones.
