Every job advertisement clearly states how you can apply. Usually you need to use the online application form (or apply by email). Below is an overview of the selection procedure for each statute.
Reasonable adjustments
UAntwerp wants to give everyone the opportunity to participate in the application process under the best possible conditions. This way we can do our utmost to provide reasonable adjustments for you.
Academic staff
We use an online job application platform for job applications for Academic Staff.You will receive a confirmation that we have received your letter of application. Once the application deadline has passed, the selection committee will review all of the applications and screen them on the basis of required educational level, competences, experience and so on.
The selection committee will decide on the next step of the selection procedure and will notify the candidates of their decision. Depending on the job you are applying for, you may asked to take a job-oriented test in addition to meeting with the selection committee. This may mean developing a research proposal or giving a sample lesson, which in some cases may be accessible to public.
As an applicant, you will be kept informed about the next steps in the selection procedure. We always give feedback once a selection procedure ends. Naturally, your application will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
Administrative and Technical Staff
We use an online job application platform for job applications for the Administrative and Technical Staff. After completing the online application form, you will receive a confirmation that we have received your online application. Once the application deadline has passed, the first selection phase starts. The selection committee will carefully screen the applications on the basis of required educational level, competences, experience, and so on. Only those profiles that best match the profile being sought will be invited to enter the next selection phase. The content of this phase depends on the (entry) level of the job for which you are applying:
- Levels 9 and 10: interview with the selection committee followed by an assessment
- Levels 4 to 8: a job-oriented test and/or aptitude tests, followed by an interview with the selection committee
- Levels 1 to 3: possibly a job-oriented test and an interview with the selection committee
All of the selection procedures include an interview with the selection committee. This committee is made up of staff from the Human Resources Department, the department or faculty to which the vacancy relates and sometimes an observer representing personnel. As an applicant, you will be kept informed about the next steps in the selection procedure. We always give feedback once a selection procedure ends.
