Antwerp Valorisation & Development, Antwerp University's business unit responsible for strategic valorisation and collaboration with companies, is looking for a full-time Business Controller.

Position

This position includes the following tasks:

  • You support AVD in the three valorisation domains (Sustainable Chemistry & Materials, Infectious Diseases & Environmental Health, Metropolitanism & Logistics/Mobility) by co-developing business plans and strategies in collaboration with the domain experts and following up on the open innovation hubs (BlueApp, Vaccinopolis, The Beacon).
  • You ensure implementation of the strategies with a focus on process implementation, follow-up and improvement of activities.
  • You coordinate projects and activities such as market and feasibility studies, financial planning, service development, marketing and communication.
  • As a financial and economic expert, you develop the business plans together with the valorisation teams and ensure that the necessary processes are implemented for an effective follow-up.
  • You work closely with the finance department and ensure efficient follow-up of budgets and reports.
  • You supervise the operational processes within AVD and ensure that all stakeholders are involved and informed.

Profile

  • You hold a master's degree in Applied Economics, Commercial Engineering or equivalent competences through experience. 
  • You have an interest in scientific research and innovation and combine this with strong analytical and strategic skills.
  • You have strong organisational skills and can implement and follow up processes efficiently.
  • You have strong communication skills and can work smoothly with internal and external partners
  • Good knowledge of current MS Office software.
  • A good oral and written knowledge of Dutch and English is required for interaction with the different partners.
  • You are good at following up progress.

What we offer

  • We offer you an employment contract of indefinite duration.
  • You will receive a gross monthly salary within the grade range 8.1-10.1 of the Administrative and Technical Staff pay scale.  Your starting grade depends on your relevant professional experience.
  • You will receive meal vouchers, eco cheques, internet connectivity allowance, group insurance, guaranteed income insurance and bicycle allowance or full reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.
  • You can work under a flexible working hours scheme.
  • You have 40 holidays and a week of collective closure between Christmas and New Year.
  • You work mostly on Campus Middelheim in a dynamic and stimulating working environment.
