How to deposit your doctoral thesis for preservation?
You are obliged to offer your doctoral (PhD) thesis to the University of Antwerp Library for preservation.
Please send two copies of your publication to the University of Antwerp Library.
You must also submit a digital version in pdf format. The procedure is available here:
https://studhelp.uantwerpen.be/ro_helpdesk/knowledgebase.php?article=273
The bibliographic data of your thesis will be added to the catalogue and the Academic Bibliography. The digital version will be archived in the repository of the library.
Clause of confidentiality
PhD researchers have to upload the completed and signed 'confidentiality checklist' via the tile ‘Requests’ in SisA (New Request > PhD doctoral thesis > Submit confidentiality checklist) at the latest when submitting the first draft thesis to the individual PhD commission. The PDF form will then automatically be sent to the Valorisation Office and the faculty/department doctoral administration. As soon as the form is submitted, the milestone ‘Arranging confidentiality’ in ePhD will automatically be completed. As long as the confidentiality checklist is not submitted, it will be impossible to submit an application for the announcement of the public defence.
The paper version of the confidential dissertation is kept in the library (Special Collections department) and can only be consulted under the supervision of the library staff. The user must also sign a declaration of confidentiality. The digital version in the catalogue is not accessible.
Microfilm publication of your doctoral thesis
It is possible to publish your thesis on microfilm through Proquest. All costs related to this service are at the expense of the student.
