B-MAGIC is funded by the EOS-programme of FWO Flanders and FNRS under the Excellence of Science (EOS) project number 30802346. EOS wants to promote joint research between researchers in the Flemish and French-speaking community by funding joint fundamental research projects in any scientific discipline. The Excellence of Science programme has granted 3.7 million euros to fundamental research into the history of the magic lantern in Belgium. In collaboration with an art college and international partners, a team of researchers at two Flemish and two French-speaking universities will spend four years researching the magic lantern in Belgium.
