This public debate took place as a part of the symposium “Bridging Research in Dance,” organized by CoDa, CORPoREAL, Master Dance Royal Conservatoire Antwerp, and International Arts Centre deSingel. The debate brought together CoDa members who are deeply familiar with how institutional conditions can either advance or inhibit the development of artistic research in dance within different international contexts. The aim of this conversation was to provide critical perspectives on the various ways in which research in dance can or ought to function within the broader ecosystem of both the arts and academia.
Participating CoDa members: Christel Stalpaert, Annouk Van Moorsel, Laura Karreman, Efrosini Protopapa, Scott deLahunta, Susanne Franco, and Sarah Whatley.
Organizing CoDa members: Annouk Van Moorsel, Annelies Van Assche, and Timmy De Laet
