Can I refuse to complete an assignment because of my vegan lifestyle? Do religious facilities also apply to religious rest days? Society, and therefore our University, is increasingly faced with questions for which there are no clear answers. The university wants to live up to its vision of striving for inclusion, so it is important to provide reasoned answers to questions about diversity. That is why the University of Antwerp has developed the Framework for Diversity Questions, in which we formulate well-founded answers to diversity questions.
Do you, as a student, have a question about diversity?
Send an e-mail with your question to diversiteit@uantwerpen.be and mention the following:
- Which faculty or department?
- Are you a student, PhD candidate or staff member?
- What arguments have you come up with?
- Is this your question or has anyone else asked you this question? Then ask if and how you can describe the situation.
What can you expect?
The Diversity Team will contact your faculty's diversity anchor or your department's contact person. Within 10 working days you will receive feedback on the approach taken to answer the question.
Why is it useful to submit a diversity question?
- Chances are that you are not the only one struggling with this question. In this way you can help other students.
- By submitting the question, you are helping to create a more structural diversity and inclusion policy. All diversity questions will be discussed with the relevant policy bodies for structural embedding.
- Other similar questions are linked to each diversity question and answered. One diversity question can therefore lead to advice on several diversity questions.
