A student refuses to make an assignment on designing a conveyor belt system for a slaughterhouse because of their vegan lifestyle. As a lecturer, I am unsure of whether I can use the n-word in a history class. Can I positively discriminate in a selection process? Can a lactation room be set up less than a ten-minute walk away from my desk?
Society, and therefore our University, is increasingly faced with questions to which there are no straightforward answers. How you, as a staff member, can respond to the expectations of the University is sometimes not so clear. For this reason, the University of Antwerp has developed the Framework for Diversity Questions, in which we formulate answers to diversity questions in a substantiated way.
