Quintessence is an innovative Belgian consultancy firm with more than 30 years of experience in people management and organizational development. The company has built a unique philosophy around Purple Management©, which combines a classic hierarchically-oriented business organization (“blue” approach) with an appreciative perspective aimed at integrating individual’s talents and wishes into the organization’s mission (“red” approach). Quintessence works together with organizations and their employees to build a stimulating organizational culture. This is possible by turning the mission and goals of the organization to the passions and strengths of the people who work there.
Quintessence counts on high satisfaction scores from clients and has become reference in competency and talent management. It has succeeded in offering services aimed at creating win-win work environments for both employer and employee, so that both can optimize their growth and strengthen each other. Among the recognitions received by Quintessence, it is worth to mention the 'Certified Member' from Federgon - the Belgian federation of private labour market intermediaries and private HR service providers. Also, the Q*For label awarded the firm in recognition of the quality of its services. Furthermore, the firm has won the Belgian HR Excellence Award in several occasions in the 'Best People Assessment & Testing Company' category and 'Best Learning & Development Company' category.

As partner organisation of the IT-DED³ network, Quintessence has contributed to the personal career development of our early-stage researchers (ESRs) by providing a services package tailored to this EU-funded research project.
At an early phase of their recruitment, a personal appraisal of the ESR fellows was performed based on a personal interview with assessments specialists and the outcome of the questionnaire focused on personality, career anchors, drivers and motivations. The main goal was to identify personal strengths and weaknesses that could serve as starting point for further development. In their final year, the 360° tool was implemented not only to invite the researchers to self-assess their own performance, but also to invite their peers to give feedback on their work, behaviour, strengths and pitfalls. This exercise resulted in an in-depth report and an online debrief providing essential insights for their future career and development trajectory.
As a complementary action, Quintessence provided the researchers with training on Business Development (BD), Networking and Commercial Persona Building. The objective was to further broaden soft skills in commercial interactions by addressing the following questions: Why and how are BD skills a strength for Researchers?; What is BD essential in these interactions?; How to experience a successful commercial contact?
Quintessence attaches great importance to methodology, while following strictest guidelines and ethical considerations in their services. Aligned with these techniques and values, Quintessence has largely met the expectations and significantly contributed to the personal and professional development of our researchers.
