The primary partnership of the FiLi-Vi-X project consists of the University of Antwerp (UA), University Hospital Antwerp (UZA) and the Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM), with Radboudumc as the international partner. The three Antwerp institutions have already had decades of sustained cooperation in the care of patients with infectious diseases (UZA and ITM), and in research and training on infectious diseases at various levels.

The departments and research groups involved for this project within the UA include the Global Health Institute and Vaxinfectio, for the UZA the Departments of General Internal, Infectious Diseases, Tropical Medicine and Emergency, and for the ITM the Department of Clinical Sciences. From UZA and UA, collaborations with Radboudumc (Nijmegen) on education and exchange of best practices within the fields of antibiotic policy and HLIU care have increasingly emerged since 2017.
