Formative Evaluation in Education

This website is geared towards an international audience of teachers and other education professionals with the aim of supporting them in the integration of formative assessment into classroom practice. For this purpose the website offers a translation of the Dutch Toolbox Formatieve Evaluatie, developed at Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Antwerp.

The project was coordinated by Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences and Arts in cooperation with the University of Antwerp and the Free University of Brussels. Language teachers from four secondary schools (Gemeentelijk Technisch Instituut Sint-Jozef Kalmthout, Sint-Jozefinstituut Kontich, Sint-Michielscollege Schoten, Sint-Norbertusinstituut Duffel) and student teachers from the teacher education departments at Antwerp University and Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences and Arts committed themselves to developing the toolbox together with researchers and collaborators from Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The latter were Debbie De Neve, An Leroy, Werner Huysmans, Dieter Reynaert, Erika Rosiers and Wouter Smets. 

Formative Evaluation in Education is the English version of the original toolbox that was translated by prof. dr. Tom Smits in collaboration with student teachers from the teacher education department at the Antwerp School of Education, University of Antwerp.
