The situation in Eastern DRC
We are deeply concerned about the ongoing crisis in and around the Kivus, a region where many of our colleagues, friends, and research partners are actively engaged. The escalating insecurity is having a profound impact on the lives of countless individuals, including the families and collaborators of our community members.
As the situation unfolds, numerous reports have highlighted the challenges faced by those on the ground. We stand in solidarity with everyone affected and remain committed to supporting our colleagues and their networks during this difficult time.
On this page, we will be sharing recent news through media articles to which IOB colleagues have contributed; and we will update you on activities we plan to organise on this subject.
