Blue and Green Infrastructure in the city of Antwerp
The city of Antwerp faces the same challenges as many (other) cities in terms of climate adaptation. Problems such as the urban heat island effect, longer periods of drought and more intense and frequent precipitation require solutions. The City of Antwerp's Water Plan, Green Plan and Climate Plan provide additional blue and green infrastructure as a policy line and solution for a sustainable future. The challenge lies not only in the provision of green-blue networks on the public domain (areas and buildings owned by the city), but also on private property.
