Strengthen and protect green structures as planned in Turnhout Climate Plan

In its climate plan, the city of Turnhout has set the ambition of being a climate-neutral and climate-robust city by 2050. In doing so, the ambition is to make the outdoor environment more robust against the adverse effects of climate change. This includes preventing flooding, combatting drought, reducing heat stress, etc. The climate plan therefore emphasises the importance of greenery and nature in and around the city. Some of the focal points here are:

- strengthening green structures around the city;

- strengthening green corridors;

- safeguarding 'green islands' in the city.
