Pharus emerges from a university with a long-standing tradition of societal engagement. The University of Antwerp has always been driven by social commitment, and the Faculty of Law considers social perspectives in all its activities, from research and education to staff management and organisation. The Faculty also believes strongly in placing its expertise at the service of society. From postgraduate courses and socio-economic policy-making to involvement in non-profit organisations and social debate, it takes active pluralism as its guiding principle.
The Faculty is also active in accepting academic responsibility in regard to its societal links (#lawinsociety). In every aspect of its work, it strives to be present, relevant, excellent and responsible.
