ABOUT PAX MOOT COURT

The PAX Moot Court started in 2012 as an internal moot court activity at Sciences Po Paris initiated by Professor Horatia Muir Watt and Hélène van Lith as part of the SciencesPo team. Over the years, the PAX Moot Court grew in size as it attracted more and more teams from across Europe and world. This was in large part made possible by the support of the European Commission in the framework of the JUDGTRUST Project (2018-2020) and the PAX Project (2020-2022).

The PAX Moot Court is a specialised moot court competition focused on Transnational Law and Private International Law issues. In this competition, participants will be able to learn and apply first-hand the complexities and nuances of how international Conventions and EU Regulations interact in the context of globalisation.

MANUAL ON THE ORGANISATION OF MOOT COURTS

As part of the PAX 2.0 project, we are thrilled to present a comprehensive Manual on the Organisation of Moot Courts on EU Judicial Cooperation in Civil Matters Having Cross-Border Implications. Drawing from our extensive experience on organisation of the PAX Moot Court, we have compiled this manual as a practical resource to support and enhance the quality of future moot court competitions. This manual serves as a valuable tool not only for refining our own PAX Moot but also as a guide for any organisation or individual interested in creating moot courts focused on judicial cooperation in civil matters. We hope this manual will encourage and support others in organising moot courts in this important area of EU law, contributing to the training and preparation of the next generation of legal professionals.
