The ScreenUrSelf trial works with four groups that can use a self-sampling kit:
- One group will be given an envelope that can be used to request a free urine self-sampling kit.
- One group will be given a package that already includes a free urine self-sampling kit.
- One group will receive an envelope that can be used to request a free vaginal self-sampling kit.
- One group will be given a package that already includes a free vaginal self-sampling kit.
You can only take part in the ScreenUrSelf trial if you are selected.
Whether you can use a urine or a vaginal self-recovery kit is determined completely at random. You cannot switch groups.
The envelope you can use to request a free self-sampling kit contains:
- A letter
- An information leaflet
If you did not send a sample after six months, or did not have a smear taken, you will get this reminder letter from us.
Included in the packet with a free urine self collection kit is:
- A letter, with a participation form (which you will find on the back of the letter).
- A leaflet with extra info
- A pouch containing material to take a urine sample: Colli-Pee®
- A user instruction sheet on how to take a sample.
- A secure pouch: a translucent pouch containing a rectangular white cloth.
- An extra envelope to return your sample for free.
If your sample has yielded no result, and you want to take a second sample yourself, you will receive another letter from us. With a participation form (you will find it on the back of the letter).
