Each day takes place at a different location. Keep track of the location you need to travel to, for the days that you registered.

In general, we open doors at 08:30 with coffee and kick off the programme and 09:00. We aim to close sessions at 17:00.

Transport

Travel from Antwerp to Brussels (Tuesday & Thursday)

Participants may travel independently or join the group at Antwerp Central Station, Platform 23 (Level -2) at 07:20. We will take the IC train to Brussels South, departing at 07:25.

  • (Free) group train tickets will be provided.
  • Note: a railway strike is announced for Tuesday, 22 April. However, we expect the 07:25 train to run as scheduled, and we’ll confirm this on Monday, 21 April.

Lunch

Lunch will be provided each day, kindly sponsored by our partners:

  • Tuesday – SNCB
  • Wednesday – Alpha Trains
  • Thursday – Infrabel
  • Friday – Siemens (closing lunch at the University Club)

Complementary welcome drink

To conclude Tuesday, stay longer for a complimentary welcome drink (17:00 to 18:00), kindly provided by SNCB.

(Optional) Field visit

Friday afternoon, an optional but recommended field visit will take place.

πŸ“ Visit includes seeing the rolling stock maintenance facilities, a locomotive, the shunting yard, and the neutral hill (a collaboration between SNCB, Lineas, and Siemens).

Note: This visit is mandatory for students aiming to receive 3 ECTS Credits.

How to book a hotel (please follow the steps in the right order)

  • Go to the online booking tool
  • First enter code UAACB19 (in capital letters) and click on β€˜Search’
  • Then enter the arrival and departure dates and click on β€˜Search’
  • You’ll see an overview of all available hotels and their Best Available Rate -10%,  at that moment, including any cancellation conditions
  • Choose a hotel and book your room
