Guidelines

Strong video content helps us to stand out as a university, especially on social media. Here are some guidelines to ensure that we continue to create attractive and consistent video content.

  • Keep it short
Especially on social media. Aim for a video length of about 15 seconds.
  • Start with an image
Avoid starting videos with text on a plain white background. Always try to start with a nice image.
  • Avoid walls of text
Spread out longer texts over several screens and scenes to keep the content manageable for everyone.
  • Use the correct bumper and template
The UAntwerp logo in the bottom left-hand corner should remain visible throughout the entire video.

Technical guidelines

Logo placement

Every video should contain the UAntwerp icon as a watermark. The transparency of this logo is set at 90%. Place the logo as follows:

  • 1:1 and 4:4 – 72 px high and wide, 36 px from the edge
  • 16:9 and 9:16 – 72 px high and wide, 72 px from the edge

Subtitles

Subtitles are set in Officina Medium, 48 px, with 100% line height. The subtitles have a black border (#000000) with a width of 1 px and transparency set at 30%. In the Adobe After Effects Toolkit, subtitles are already set up correctly.

Lower Thirds (captions)

In Adobe Premiere, you can import a Lower Third. To do this, you need to select the Essential Graphics panel and import this Motion Graphic Template (.mogrt file).

Using the Essential Graphics panel, you can adjust the text and change the length of the blocks behind the text. You can also adjust the time without changing the animation.

Bumpers

For each faculty, a bumper is available in four formats: 1:1, 4:5, 16:9 and 9:16, both in Dutch and in English.

  • Below, you'll find all bumpers. These are transparent .mov files, both in Dutch and English, in all formats.
  • In Canva, you can follow the instructions in the template for 1:1 videos to replace the bumper.
