The Institutional University Cooperation project IUC-UL constitutes a collaboration between the University of Limpopo and the different Flemish Universities under the umbrella of the Flemish Interuniversity Council (VLIR-UOS). The IUC programme aims at building the institutional capacity of a selected number of universities in the South. 

The project's main objectives are: 

• to strengthen the research capacity of staff and students;
• to offer mobility to South African and Belgian researchers & students;
• to engage in community outreach;
• to engage relevant stakeholders. 

The end goal is to change lives of people by implementing projects or programmes of capacity building
