Q: Do the prices listed on your website include VAT? 

A: Internal services to employees at the University of Antwerp are exempt from VAT.  

For external services, the prices listed for the courses include 21% VAT but the prices listed for consultancy do not yet include 21% VAT. 

 

Q: I am affiliated with the University of Antwerp. Is it possible to pay the internal rate and send the bill to an external organization? 

A: All employees of the University of Antwerp – regardless of FTE or voluntary status – are entitled to our services at the internal rate. However, billing externally is a more costly procedure due to administrative overhead and VAT. Therefore, we can only offer our internal rates if the services can be billed internally at the University of Antwerp. 

 

Q: I am unable to make it to the course I registered for. How do I cancel my registration and will I get reimbursed? 

A: As is mentioned in the ‘how to pay for a StatUa course’ guide, cancellation with full refunding is possible until the course material is sent to the participants. This is usually two days before the start of the course; this date will be communicated in advance. We make an exception for absence due to medical reasons, as long as you have a doctor’s note. Cancellations and requests for reimbursement can be sent to statua@uantwerpen.be  

 

Q: Do I receive a certificate for attending a course? 

A: We hand out certificates of attendance if you have attended at least 75% of the course. These certificates will be sent to the registered e-mail address approximately a week after the course’s final day.  

In addition, it is possible to take an exam after the course. Passing this exam results in an additional certificate.  


Q: How to pay for the courses? 

A: 

PhD Student registered at Antwerp Doctoral School

If you are a registered PhD student at the Antwerp Doctoral School (ADS), the registration fee will be subtracted automatically from your educational credit. This means you don’t have to do anything, unless:

  • you no longer have sufficient credit

  • your subscription to the ADS has not been completed yet

    In the latter two cases, you need to pay like the other participants.

    Other participants

    There are 2 options :

    1) Internal transfer

    For UA-affiliated academic personnel that has externally raised funds and wishes to pay the course with that credit, use the form of “interne verrekeningen”. Contact your secretary or the ADFIN helpdesk for more information (do not ask StatUa! We can’t help you!). As stated on the document, it should be fully signed and sent to the finance departement. Transfer the amount to StatUa’s account 50-FA020000-OW220000, and mention the name of the participant and the name of the course.

    If you are not UA-affiliated, are unable to do an internal transfer, or have no idea what this is, use the second option.

    2) External transfer

    Wire your registration fee to the following bank account, at the latest 10 days before the start of the course:IBAN: BE46 7350 0799 7636 BIC: KREDBEBBThe bank's address is KBC, Rubens KBC Toren, Eiermarkt 20, 2000 Antwerpen. Please mention the code " UA 50-FA020000-OW220000 + name participant + name of the course". Please one bank transfer per participant. If you are on the waiting list, wait with your payment until further notice.

Q: What is StatUa cancelation policy? 

A: Cancellation with refunding is possible until the course material has been mailed to the participants. This usually happens two days before the start of the course. For courses where no course material is mailed, cancellation with refunding is possible until one day before the start of the course.

ADS-participants who don’t show up without any previous notification, lose their registration fee.
