Steven Abrams

Steven Abrams holds a bachelor degree in mathematics, and a master and PhD degree in statistics (UHasselt, 2015). During his PhD he developed statistical methodology to model individual heterogeneity in the acquisition of infectious diseases. His research interests include the statistical analysis of (serial-) serological survey data, outbreak risk assessment in highly vaccinated populations, estimation of epidemiological parameters with regard to malaria infection and the application and integration of survival data techniques in infectious disease epidemiology. 

He is also affiliated to the Center for Statistics (CenStat), Data Science Institute (DSI), Interuniversity Institute of Biostatistics and statistical Bioinformatics (I-BioStat) at UHasselt and is a member of the interuniversity SIMID group (www.simid.be). Steven Abrams teaches introductory and advanced courses in biostatistics to undergraduate and graduate students in mathematics, medicine, biomedical sciences, statistics and epidemiology.
