Abstract
The goal of the research plan is to contribute to a better understanding of how specifically organizations can accomplish organizational adaptation and sustain their competitive advantage in the face of environmental transitions, on a persistent basis. To accomplish this goal, it may be useful to differentiate between two levels of analysis: (a) the role of organizational conditions and (b) the innovation and adaptation activities in themselves.
