can art save lives?
yes
of course
sure?
absolutely
if you run into a dead end in life
you need
more than doctors
the healing of imagination

HeArts is a knowledge cluster dedicated to the interplay between art and health. We combine forces to gather, deepen, share, and apply knowledge. HeArts advocates for a holistic approach to well-being that embraces physical, mental, and social resilience and health.
At HeArts, we research and support the interaction between art and health from two perspectives: how can healthcare improve the artistic work and well-being of artists and creative professionals? And in what ways does art contribute to the well-being of individuals and society? Through research and collaboration with artists and scientists, HeArts aims to contribute to greater well-being in society.
HeArts operates within the Antwerp Research Institute for the Arts (ARIA) and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Antwerp in close collaboration with the CORPoREAL research group of the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp.
Contact persons for this cluster: Pascal Gielen, Bob Selderslaghs and Nathalie Roussel
