  During his education Bart was employed at The Eargroup, a clinical ENT practice based in Antwerp and specialized in audiology, otology and cochlear implantation. There he was actively involved in audiological measurements and CI-evaluation. This way he built up experience in the field of audiology and acoustics.
• Otoconsult (2007-2009)
  Otoconsult is a spin-off company of The Eargroup. It was founded in 2007 to focus on applied research and specialized software development. In 2008 Otoconsult was assigned the coordination of an international 7th Framework Project (7th FP-SME-222291 “DUAL-PRO”, 2008-2010) for the development  of a “Dual electric-acoustic speech processor with linguistic assessment tools for deaf individuals with residual low frequency hearing”.
• Start of a PhD in Science (March, 2009), Universiteit Antwerpen, Antwerpen (Belgium)
