In a recent publication featured in Nature Communications, researchers from the CMT and their collaborators from USA and China showed how a conventional superconducting film patterned with a conformal array of nanoscale holes can act as a superconducting diode. Such a device is dissipationless and desirable for electronic circuits with ultralow power consumption, yet it remains challenging to realize.
