The autopsy of the beached whale in the Deurganckdok took place on 30 August 2023. Ellen Goossenaerts, Marleen Cools (CoPeD) and Tim De Ridder (Department of Biology) provided their enthusiastic assistance. They brought back the pectoral fins, shoulder blades and a number of vertebrae that will be used for research and will eventually be exhibited at the University of Antwerp.
