Jonathan Bernaerts holds Bachelors in Philosophy and Law (University of Antwerp), and obtained Master degrees in Law (University of Antwerp) and Comparative International Law (University of Toulouse Capitole 1). He was awarded the European Master Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC). In 2020, Jonathan obtained a Joint PhD from the University of Antwerp and the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, Department of Law and Anthropology.
