Professor Marcelo Dias Ponte is a professor in federalism at the University of Fortaleza. He holds a Phd in Constitutional Law following his thesis titled "Brazilian Federalism: Cooperative Verticalization for development and social well being". He is a voluntary member of the Government and Law Research Group at the Univesity of Antwerp as well as a member of the Research Group Economic, Political, Legal and Environmental in Latin America -REPJAAL at the University of Fortaleza.
