Favourite (interior) architecture project
PC CARITAS / architecten de vylder vinck taillieu
The PC Caritas project located in Melle, Belgium, is a thoughtful renovation and expansion of a psychiatric care facility. The design maintains a respectful dialogue with the existing historic structures while introducing contemporary elements. A key feature is the use of raw and unfinished materials, which create an honest and tactile architectural language. The addition of new volumes and the strategic placement of courtyards enhance natural light and spatial fluidity, promoting a therapeutic environment. The project stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful design in enhancing the quality of care and the well-being of patients and staff alike.
