Bio

RAMAKRISHNA SAMANTHULA is a Prime Minister’s Research Fellow (PMRF) pursuing his PhD at Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), Chennai, India. His research focuses on Tensile Response of Textile reinforced concrete (TRC) and its applications in design. His expertise includes developing testing methodologies for short and long-term tensile behaviour of cementitious composites using servo-controlled closed loop mechanism; assessing the cracking bahaviour using Digital Image Correlation (DIC); and fabrication of large-scale elements with TRC. He has significantly contributed in development of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) using TRC at IIT Madras Campus. He has recently won the "Sustainable Developments for Future Infrastructure Award 2024" at Monash University, Malaysia. He has now started working as a visiting researcher at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. At the University of Antwerp, his research focuses on the effect of wet-dry cycles on yarn-matrix interface and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of TRC elements.  He has been an active member of RILEM.
