November meeting of the SRN and Flemish heritage NGOs

On Thursday 7 November, a small group of members of the 'HPCs in a Digital World' met in Brussels to learn more about HPC support in Flanders and the Netherlands, and to make preparatory discussions and planning ahead of the 2025 meeting in Helsinki. Welsh Higher Education Brussels, based at Wales House, kindly provided a venue for the meeting.

In addition to participants from University of Antwerp, Ghent University, KU Leuven, Swansea University, Uppsala University and the University of Helsinki, we were also joined by representatives from FARO, Histories, ETWIE and the RCE of the Netherlands, allowing for an exchange of knowledge and ideas, and exploration of future cooperation. 

Continued knowledge exchange and research

In addition to the meeting, prof drs Hilary Orange and Nika Balomenou (Swansea University) kindly gave special guest lectures last week at the Universities of Ghent and Antwerp respectively. Dr Eljas Oksanen joined KU Leuven for the day to develop research collaborations. In the previous month, prof drs Suzie Thomas (University of Antwerp) and Pieterjan Deckers (KU Leuven) were able to visit the GLAM group at the University of Copenhagen for several intensive research days.
