8-9 June 2021 - online via Zoom

Can we speak of human rights in the Bible and is the Bible relevant to contemporary discussions of human rights? Special attention will be given to the interrelationship between law and literature in diverse biblical texts and to the ways in which the Bible has been evoked in reflections on basic human rights in modern literature and thought.

Conference organized by The Center for Literary Studies (The Hebrew University of Jerusalem); The Center for Bible, Culture, and Modernity (CBCM); The Institute of Jewish Studies (University of Antwerp); The Program in Judaic Studies (Princeton University); and The Department of Comparative Literature (Hebrew University).
