Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Tissue preparation
The biomedical microscopic imaging core facility is equipped with (cryo-)microtomes and vibratome for generation of the perfect section / tissue slide. In addition, our staff and lab technicians have impressive in-house expertise and know-how related to various histological staining techniques, e.g. classical light microscopic stainings, immunocytochemistry, in situ hybridization, etc.
Sample preparation transmission electron microscopy
The preparation and staining of samples for TEM visualization is a complex and specialized procedure, which is of major importance in achieving optimal images. Here again, the Biomedical Microscopic Imaging core facility has extensive experience in preparing ultra thin sections for classical TEM. All tools are available to perform high-pressure freezing, freeze substitution or cryo-TEM applications. In addition, there is the possibility to perform tomography for 3D-reconstructions.
