The Penta Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with LAB-Net, aiming to foster mutually beneficial exchanges between the two parties to benefit the advancement of clinical research. Clinical studies represent a core pillar for future joint-endeavours and this Memorandum is the first step towards a long-term strategic cooperation between the parties.

Both Parties:

a. Consider collaboration in the field of infectious diseases, clinical studies, and clinical research in general to be important;

b. Recognize the need to leverage efforts and complement expertise in areas of particular strength to the parties, and

c. Emphasize the importance of the joint mission of both parties in engaging in the delivery of patient-centered services,

In order to:

  • Be of ultimate benefit to the patient and
  • Establish a long-term strategic and structured collaboration between the two parties.

The MoU specifically describes the parties` intentions for increased collaboration, cooperation and interaction. They intend to pursue collaboration in clinical studies/trials in the domain of infectious diseases. Furthermore, both parties wish to promote exchange of academic and research information in the field of infectious diseases. In addition, both parties may organize training activities in areas of mutual interest.

Through our studies, training programmes and collaborations around paediatric infectious disease, we want to improve the lives of women and children, wherever they live.

Penta was born in 1991 with the aim of undertaking independent clinical trials on antiretroviral therapies for children with HIV.
