On 14 and 15 May 2024, 74 delegates participated in the workshop on the coordination of clinical studies and trials funding during infectious diseases outbreaks, organized in the Brussels Convention Centre in the framework of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU.
For the first time, national funding organizations shared their experiences of funding clinical studies and trials during the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe, while partners of the CoMeCT, ECRAID-Base, ECRAID-PRIME, PENTA, C4C, and VACCELERATE projects discussed the establishment of warm-base clinical trial networks. Through a series of inspiring lectures and discussions, we have laid the groundwork for improving Europe’s response to infectious disease outbreaks.
